Lorenzo Marinone's work focuses on security, violent extremism and radicalisation. He has extensively worked on these issues with Italian institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Senate, as well as with NATO and UN agencies such as the FAO. He has also been a central researcher in a European project on radicalisation and counter-narratives. Previously, Lorenzo was the head of the Middle East & North Africa desk at the Rome-based think tank CeSI - Centro Studi Internazionali. In this capacity, he focused on regional geopolitical and security issues. Lorenzo holds an MSc in Philosophy from the University of Torino. He also obtained a Master degree in Peacekeeping and Security Studies from the University of Roma TRE with a thesis on Syrian refugees in Turkey.
