Michele Groppi

Researcher

Michele Groppi is a Researcher at the European Foundation for Democracy. He is a Teaching Fellow at King's College London, Defence Studies Department and President of the International Team for the Study of Security Verona. His expertise focuses on terrorism, counterterrorism, radicalisation, quantitative and qualitative research methods. During his academic journey, Michele has conducted extensive field work searching for more holistic understanding of violent and non-violent radicalisation in Italy and elsewhere. A published author, Michele is also a research fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) and has given lectures in the UK, Italy, Spain at academic and governmental institutions.

Michele holds a BA from Stanford University in International Relations (Honors Program), a master's degree in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security from the IDC (Summa Cum Laude), and a PhD in Defence Studies from King's College London.
