China’s persecution of the Uyghurs

The persecution of the Uyghurs in China is nothing new. However, in recent months, newly discovered evidence has further highlighted the alarming situation and seriousness of the issue. Hence, in order to raise awareness regarding the violations of universal human rights perpetrated against the Uyghurs, as well as identifying and mobilising diverse groups of advocates for the cause, the European Foundation for Democracy has been organising a wide range of activities.

Amongst these activities, EFD has organised online events such as webinars with stakeholders from various backgrounds in order to discuss the issue at hand. Also, other undertakings such as trainings and expert meetings have been arranged in order to shed further light on what is happening to the Uyghur in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China.
