EFD/PSSI luncheon debate: “Jihadist Strategies against Europe: background, projections and options”


On September 16, 2008, the European Foundation for Democracy and the Prague Security Studies Institute co-organized a briefing directed by EFD Visiting Fellow Dr. Walid Phares on Jihadist strategies against Europe.

Dr. Phares outlined and explained the rise of the Global Jihadist movements in Europe. He has focused on the perception of Europe by the global Jihadist movements, analyzed their strategies, and outlined the projected future goals of the movement. Dr Phares provided concrete policy recommendations on how to deal with the current threat. His presentation was followed by an informal debate around the table.
