How can Iran improve its human rights – How can Europe help?
On 12 March 2014, the European Foundation for Democracy organised a briefing for MEPs co-hosted by Andrzej Grzyb MEP and press conference at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, on “How can Iran improve its human rights – How can Europe help?”
The panel included Dr Shirin Ebadi, founder of the Centre for Supporters of Human Rights and first Iranian and Muslim woman to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (2003) in recognition of her efforts to promote democracy and human rights, Ladan Boroumand, Director at the Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation and recipient of the Lech Walesa Prize (2009), shared with Roya Boroumand, Executive Director of the Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation.
