Radicalisation and the media

EFD in co-operation with MEP Elisabetta Gardini (EPP, Italy), led a panel discussion at the European Parliament on radicalisation in the media on 23rd January.

Guest speakers included Andrew Gilligan, the London Editor of the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph. Andrew has extensively covered the rise of Islamism in Britain and British politics. Morten Skjoldager, is a journalist with Politiken, the largest Danish newspaper who offered his views from his work covering militant Islamism, political extremism and terrorism. Ghaffar Hussain from the Quilliam Foundation presented his perspective as an analyst of South-Asian and Middle Eastern politics. EFD's Lorenzo Vidino moderated the discussion as part of our Radicalisation Series.
