Radicalisation as an international phenomenon: What role does the ideology play in radicalising vulnerable young Europeans?

On 26 May 2016 the European Foundation for Democracy, in collaboration with the Counter Extremism Project, hosted a policy briefing with Ed Husain, Senior Advisor and the Director of Strategy at the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.

Mr. Husein pointed out that Europe is facing a problem today with the ideology that lies behind the minds of extreme Islamists, an ideology that fights western values and everything that does not fit to certain extreme ideas. This a growing cancer within Islam and is not to be confused with the Muslim religion as a whole.
