Snap Elections in Turkey: Erdogan reloaded or a step change?

On June 13, 2018, the European Foundation for Democracy, the European Policy Centre and the Multinational Development Policy Dialogue of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, jointly organised the breakfast debate "Snap Elections in Turkey: Erdogan reloaded or a step change?"

The panel comprised of Dr Demir Murat Seyrek, Senior Policy Advisor, European Foundation for Democracy, Nevsin Mengu, Journalist, and moderated by Amanda Paul, Senior Policy Analyst, European Policy Centre, looked at why snap elections were called, what are the key issues and challenges, and who are the key contenders.

Speakers also offered their views on the different scenarios for the outcome and how could it impact both Turkey domestically and externally, including relations with the EU and US.
