Event
Taiwan’s participation in multilateral fora
In its strongly worded Resolution of 15 September 2022, the European Parliament called for Taiwan to participate “as an observer in meetings, mechanisms and activities of international bodies such as the World Health Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change”.
The webinar will bring together experts, policymakers, and scholars to discuss the political and legal options for Taiwan to participate in UN bodies (such as obtaining observer status) as well as other multilateral fora. Discussions will also explore implications for Europe and the international community, including how and why the EU could play an active role.
