18.01.2009
New York, NY – Irshad Manji, Senior Fellow with the European Foundation for Democracy (EFD) and author of the international bestseller, The Trouble with Islam Today, will host a series of public dialogues about the need for “moral courage” in journalism, religion, politics, business and beyond.
Her first guest was novelist Salman Rushdie, author and winner of several literary prizes, who is marking the 20th anniversary of Iran’s fatwa against him.
The first event of the Moral Courage Conversations took place on Sunday January 18, 2009 at 7:30pm at 92nd Street Y in New York, during which fellow dissident Muslims Irshad Manji and Salman Rushdie explored the future of free expression in a fragile world.
