Abuse Against Female Activists Occurs Through A Gendered Lens

EFD Fellow Tehmina Kazi comments on the abuses and attacks to secular and progressive activists within the Muslim communities. She argues that security forces should be better trained to understand this kind of challenge and that the latter needs to be fought by "a sustained critique of hardline ideologies within religious community", not just those promoting violence, but also those promoting misoginy, homophobia and intolerance of dissent.
