A geography of Italian jihadism

Although many jihadists left Europe during the Arab Spring, networks of jihadists are still present in Italy. In an article published in Le Formiche 94, EFD Senior Policy Advisor Lorenzo Vidino gives an overview of the “identity-kit” of Italian jihadists. He observes that jihadists in Italy may come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share the same beliefs. Most of them live in the north of Italy, but use the Internet to connect with jihadists across the country, as well as those in other European countries and North Africa.
