A weakened al-Qaeda remains a global terrorist threat

06 August 2013

The popular Danish newspaper Dagbladet Information features an op-ed on the growing threat posed by al-Qaeda. EFD Senior Policy Advisor Lorenzo Vidino contributes to the article noting that while at a "technical level" it is true that al-Qaeda has become impaired through the US government's use of aerial drones, it still has the strength capable of targeting Western interests. He also cites Yemen as a key hub of anti-Western militant activities.

The article is available only in Danish and can be read here.
