Experts: The threat from al Qaeda against Denmark is decreasing

06 August 2013

Denmark's Public Broadcaster DR features an online article on the diminishing threat posed to Danish interests by the militant group al-Qaeda. EFD Senior Policy Advisor Lorenzo Vidino contributes to the report saying that unlike in previous years, Denmark is no longer considered a prime terrorist target for the group. Due to the controversy sparked by cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed in 2006, published in the Danish publication Jyllands-Postens, the country was frequently cited as a target for terror operations.

The article is only available in Danish and can be read here.
