20 August 2017

This article from Deutsche Presse-Agentur addresses the recent decision by the Turkish government to introduce jihad to the education curriculum.

EFD Senior Policy Advisor Demir Murat Seyrek comments on the problems the Alevis, Turkey's largest religious minority, face from this decision. "It certainly predates AKP but AKP has not done anything to solve this issue either. On the contrary, they have promoted, by all means, Sunni Islam as the main religion of the country" says Seyrek.
