Opposites attract: three main ideologies, one common threat
In this article for The Parliament Magazine, the European Foundation for Democracy's Programme Managers Dr Tommaso Virgili and Dr Francesco Farinelli address the role of extremist ideologies in the promotion of radicalisation within the EU and how they're a driving force behind terrorist attacks.
Virgili and Farinelli address three different forms of ideologies in their Op-Ed; left-wing extremism, extremist-right wing ideologies and Islamism. They conclude the article by emphasing the importance of the prevention of radicalisation, as well as the prevention of terrorism, given the role of ideolgy in inciting violence and terrorist attacks.
