EFD Fellow Tehmina Kazi writes about the importance of education and counter-narrative in counter-extremism programs, which she finds more fruitful than a strategy focused on surveillance and repression. In particular, she refers to the work undertaken by the UK's programs "Prevent" and "Charge", and to how they are effectively working in detecting early signs of radicalisation and countering them through a network of stakeholders.
