The Muslim Brotherhood: Really moderate?

In an interview with Italy’s Informazione Corretta, EFD Senior Fellow Valentina Colombo states that The Arab Spring has led to the ‘legitimisation’ of the Muslim Brotherhood. This legitimisation has strengthened the Islamic movement and has institutionalised Islamic communities in Europe that seek to establish an Islamic regime in a ‘moderate’ way. Valentina states that the West must understand that, whilst considered ‘moderate’, the Muslim Brotherhood shares the same goals as jihadists, which is to establish an Islamic state. However, while jihadists want to achieve this goal immediately, the Muslim Brotherhood is prepared to achieve this goal patiently and democratically.
