Turkey’s education curriculum; Darwin out, Jihad in

This article from Adnkronos addresses the recent decision by the Turkish government to introduce jihad to the education curriculum.

EFD Senior Policy Advisor Demir Murat Seyrek comments that this decision reinforces the Sunni predominance in Turkish Islam, disregarding other minorities such as the Alevis. “It certainly predates AKP but AKP has not done anything to solve this issue either. On the contrary, they have promoted, by all means, Sunni Islam as the main religion of the country" says Seyrek.
